What is Music First?

 

Music First is a coalition of business leaders, parents, educators, clergy, health care professionals, and musicians who are laboring to bring classical music to young children, seniors and the mentally handicapped.  Your contribution is vital to this effort.  The money collected is used to pay musicians, with a small portion going towards printing programs, purchasing music, and transportation.  Most concerts take place within a few days of fund raising.  Occasionally, there is a longer delay.  Planned concerts are sometimes canceled in which case all sponsor money is used in the next subsequent concert.  In no case are sponsor funds ever used for anything other than live classical music concerts for children, the elderly and the handicapped.

Music First remains firmly committed to arts education campus and community programs, in the face of rapidly decreasing government support. Your contribution directly supports artist fees, purchasing music, printing programs, and transportation, which are very costly.

• Artists and performances.  Help make these concerts happen.
• Vitally needed arts education programs. Last year thousands of schoolchildren attended our specially scheduled school performances
• Community programs and special concerts.
